How to protect a bag?

I recently bought a felt pout to use for pens and pencils. The problem is that there is no liner or insert inside the bag, it's just the one layer of felt. Is there an inexpensive way to protect the inside of the bag (( So the pen ink wont bleed through if there is a spill )) with a wax liner or sew in and insert?
