until your wife has a full license she is covered under your policy but should not be rated on the policy. you DO however need to tell your agent she is on a permit. they should list her on the policy as a driver with a permit so she does not get rated. you need to be aware of the rules of her permit in your state though. most states require a permit driver to drive only with a licensed driver and between certain hours.
